In the core series games, no Legendary Pokémon can breed or hatch from an Egg. ![]() ![]() The gender of most Legendary Pokémon is unknown (though there are nine notable exceptions: Latios, Latias, Heatran, Cresselia, Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, Kubfu, and Urshifu). Starting in Platinum, legendary Pokémon will reappear when the player defeats the Champion if the Pokémon fainted earlier. Legendary Pokémon are usually encountered as interactable or roaming Pokémon.
